Censorship in another direction…

So, what you’re seeing here is the holy image of a poll taken on a website (www.whattheyplay.com). It seems homophobia is still a high with parents while they have smaller regard for swearing and heads being chopped off. That isn’t to say that parents don’t mind these things, but when it comes down to it, a severed head is better than homosexuality being shown.
It’s hard to put it all into words but it’s something to ponder.

Homosexuality is grossly underrepresented in videogames, if you ask me. I mean, can you name a single homosexual protagonist? I don’t know about you, but I’m bored with the cliché way in which relationships are dealt with in videogames in general.
I guess the reason to put off labeling a homosexual protagonist is that it would be considered irrelevant. That way, the world is still secretly perfect and homosexuals don’t really exist. Everyone is used to the same old heterosexual manly-men killing bad guys. Where’s my homosexual wearing a Speedo getting into slap-fights?
Generalizing on relationships, if you’ve played The Darkness you’ll realize that dating couldn’t be more stereotypical.
Thanks for the comment, by the way.
